Riesling Rangen de Thann 2014 Clos St Urbain - Zind-Humbrecht
Sweetness index on the palate: 1, wine that is technically dry or tastes dry.
The Rangen de Thann is the most southern vineyard of Alsace. In his book "Where the wine of Alsace matures" Henry Riegert writes: "the wines that mature on the hillside of the Rangen have been among the famous vintages of all the country's vineyards since the Middle Ages! ».
The Grand Cru du Rangen is located at the exit of the valley, overlooking the Thur river, at its feet, and the town of Thann.
Tasting: An aromatic and elegant version, with accents of ginger and spices with flavours of poached peach and pear, orchard flowers, smoke and salt solution. Supple and concentrated with firm acidity and a lingering, racy finish. Drink now until 2024.
Hint: Level of sweetness on the palate. Scale from 1 to 5.
1: technically dry or tasting dry. 2: not technically dry, but sugars are not noticeable on the palate. Some tasters may find a slight roundness in the finish. These wines will taste dry with some bottle ageing.3: medium sweetness, more important in the youth of the wine, which will gradually fade with age. 4: Sweet wine. 5: Sweet wine, very close to a Late Harvest
Caution: The bottles of Alsace wine do not fit into the wooden boxes sold separately.
