Crozes-Hermitage La Guiraude 2015 - Jéroboam - Alain Graillot
94/100 Suckling
Graillot's top-of-the-range 2015 vintage stands out with a more refined and assertive structure than classic Crozes. It offers a bouquet of sweet spices, aromas of juicy red plum and blackberry, along with notes of graphite and deep minerality. The palate is ample, and the tannins, silky and melting, are remarkable. Peppery citrus flavors enhance the finish.
Cuvée presentation : Showing greater intensity and complexity than the regular bottling, the Crozes Hermitage la Guiraude is also made entirely from whole bunches, but shows less prominent stem notes. Notes of olive, roasted meat and cherry blend easily on the nose and palate. This wine has silky tannins and a long, fine, elegant finish. It should keep for over a decade.
Serving Suggestions
To reveal its full complexity, serve at 16-18°C and allow it to breathe for 30 to 60 minutes in a decanter. It pairs perfectly with red meats, game, dishes with sauces, or aged cheeses, but is also elegant enough to accompany a celebratory meal or a tasting among wine lovers. Use wide red wine glasses to release all its aromas and enjoy its richness and finesse.
