RATING: (91-93)/100 Parker
Aging potential: 2008 - 2020
Tasted by Robert M. Parker Jr. on October 31, 2003: "The blue/purple color makes the 2002 Angelus a great, elegant, sweet wine that combines finesse with power and authority. Because of the high proportion of Cabernet Franc, this wine may turn out to be one of the most compellingly aromatic Angelus to date. Robust tannins are also present in the long, medium to full-bodied finish. It is without question one of the most complete, concentrated, and provocative wines of 2002.
TERROIR
The 2002 Château Angelus is a blend of 45% Merlot & 55% Cabernet Franc.
Less than a kilometer from the famous bell tower of Saint-Emilion, on the famous south-facing "pied de côte", Angelus is the work of a passion written for eight generations by the de Boüard de Laforest family.
SERVICE
Château Angélus should be served at a temperature of 15°C, in a red wine glass of the "Bordeaux" type. The ideal quantity is 15 cl.
