- Tasted by William Kelley on August 4, 2022: "The Chiroubles Chatenay from the 2021 vintage is a notable success this year, delivering aromas of sweet plums, spices, peonies and raw cocoa, followed by a lively, seamless wine with a nice acidity and melted tannins. Bouland's Chiroubles has been quite powerful in recent vintages, but this wine marks a return to the fine, gourmet style that fans of this high-altitude cru may well demand."
- The 2021 vintage: Daniel Bouland produced another set of very successful wines in this challenging vintage, which produced a fresher, brighter, less alcoholic style, with all the concentration and fullness; image of Domaine Bouland. This estate continues to represent a reference point for the Beaujolais.
