Saint Julien - 4ème Grand Cru Classé
96/100 James Suckling & (94 - 96)/100 Parker
Cellaring: 2025 - 2058
Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown on July 9, 2020: "With a deep garnet-purple colour, the 2019 Beychevelle explodes from the glass with bombastic aromas of creme de cassis, blueberry preserves and baked plums with hints of menthol, cinnamon toast and smoked meats, plus a blast of dark chocolate. The palate injects fantastic energy into the decadent black and blue fruit flavors, framed by exquisitely ripe, finely grained tannins and bold freshness, finishing with great length and freshness."
Château Beychevelle is a Bordeaux wine produced in the famous Saint-Julien wine-growing region on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate is classified as the fourth Grand Cru in the official 1855 classification, making it one of the most prestigious vineyards in the region.
Serving temperature :
Château Beychevelle is generally served at a temperature of between 16°C and 18°C. This allows the wine to express itself fully and reveal its aromas and flavours.
Aeration:
Before serving this wine, we recommend decanting it for at least an hour to allow it to open up and air out. This will allow the aromas to develop and reach their full potential.
To accompany :
This wine is often enjoyed with red meat dishes, such as steak, roast beef or lamb. It can also be enjoyed with hard cheeses.
