Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Baudines 2010 - Frédéric Magnien
Great Burgundy wines
The wine
Frédéric Magnien’s Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Baudines" originates from a high-altitude site (approximately 300 meters) located at the top of the slope, near the forest. Its lean, white clay-limestone soil imparts a profile of great purity to the wine, characterized by a liveliness and mineral freshness that distinguish it from wines grown lower down the slope. Vinified with the meticulous expertise typical of this "haute couture" *négociant* house, the measured aging process preserves the crispness of the fruit and the natural tension of the *terroir*. On the nose, it reveals a refined bouquet of white flowers and citrus, with subtle nuances of fresh brioche and limestone. On the palate, the attack is precise and dynamic, combining elegant substance with a focused, linear acidity and a clean, saline finish. This is an accomplished gastronomic wine, pairing remarkably well with fine fish, crustaceans (such as lobster), or poultry served in a creamy sauce.
2010
In the 2010 vintage ; marked by very low yields due to a difficult flowering period, followed by a beautiful "Indian summer" : Maison Frédéric Magnien has achieved a masterful success. This vintage, defined by its exceptional balance, stands out for its natural concentration of fruit and crystalline acidity.
