By David Schildknecht in 2007: "The 2005 Bonnes Mares marries black and red raspberries with alternating aspects of fresh sorbet and liqueur on a palate that is quite refined, polished and (for this vintage) seemingly less wild than usual. A myriad of herbs and spices mingle with the fruit and suggestions of wood smoke, swing and sassafras emerge with the sweet raspberries in a lingering finish that administers a considerable kick of fine tannin and displays a sappy, resinous and slightly peppery grip. This is certainly the alter ego of this year's "Lovers": fresh, floral and tender."
