Tasting note: Offering aromas of pear, white currant, nutmeg and fresh pastry, the Bourgogne Chardonnay is lively and charming, with a seamless, enveloping profile. Harvested at just 20 hectolitres per hectare from frost-bearing vines located at La Combe in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet, this is a high-fashion regional wine that has carried a very modest price tag for bottle quality.
- Geographical location: Municipality of Puligny-Montrachet, Place-dit La Combe. Northern exposure. A very early Lieu-dit.
- Grape variety: Chardonnay
- Vines: Planted between 1953 and 1965 for the most part (only 5 ares 74 planted in 2015), on a total surface of 1 ha 12 ca
- Soil and Subsoil: Clay
- Vinification: Manual harvest, direct pressing without crushing. Static settling for 48 hours, then placed in barrels for alcoholic fermentation
- (20% new barrels)
- Maturation: 12 months in barrels, then 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Bottling according to the lunar calendar.
- Personality: The long maturation process allows this wine to age very well. The minerality is always present, despite the fact that the grapes were always harvested at high maturity.
