Deutz Brut Meurtet 2015 - Champagne William Deutz
House Deutz
- Score : 93/100 Wine Spectator
- Cellaring : Can be drunk now, but can also evolve in the cellar until 2030. This is a great champagne from the house.
- A.N.'s tasting note on Nov. 15, 2021: "Tasting note
A round, harmonious Champagne with vibrant acidity and a slightly chalky texture that soars with flavours of apricots, crème de cassis, lemon zest and toast. Delicate smoke and spice notes linger on the finish. Drink now through 2030. AN."
- Anecdote: This is the house's new cuvée in tribute to William Deutz and inaugurated in 2010. The cellar master, Michel Davesne, chose to vinify separately the two parcels dedicated to this champagne. And the two cuvées "Hommage à William Deutz" were born: La Côte Glacière and Les Meurtets; 2 parcels of Pinot Noir located in Aÿ. The vinification of this Blanc de Noirs was done in vats to follow the dosage in Brut, which allowed the development of a fabulous aromatic bouquet after 7 years of waiting in the cellar. The Meurtet parcel is located on an east-facing slope which produces a Pinot with great finesse and precision.
- Grape variety: Pinot noir
- Vintage : A great vintage for the house which will be perfect as an aperitif!
- Type of agriculture : Sustainable agriculture
