Chassagne Montrachet Rouge 2017 - Blain-Gagnard
Domaine Blain Gagnard
-
Tasting notes: The Blain-Gagnard estate is renowned as an excellent source of red Chassagne-Montrachet. The old vines (some of which date back to 1932) give depth and concentration, while aging in old barrels allows the appellation to express itself clearly. This is a classic red Chassagne-Montrachet with a "wild" earthy flavor and dark fruit profile.
-
Food/wine pairing: Red Burgundy is perhaps the world's most supple cooking wine. Its high acidity, medium body, average alcohol content and low tannins make it very pleasant to drink. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner for roasted game birds, grilled duck breasts and dishes based on mushrooms, black truffles or rich in umami.
