Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2021: "A blend of 91% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2018 La Fleur-Petrus has a medium garnet-purple colour and a slightly closed nose at first, which soon unfolds to reveal earthy notions of black truffle, mossy tree bark and damp soil, over a core of plum, wild blueberry and redcurrant jam, plus a perfumed blast of minty lilac. The palate has the most magnificent texture (in a velvety style), with a well-crafted freshness that gives relief to the dense layers of dark fruit and earth, and finishes with a bewitching perfume. Superb. Give it three or four years in bottle and drink it for the next 30 or more."
