Château Margaux 1981
Margaux - Premier Grand Cru Rated
95/100 Wine Spectator
One of the greatest wines of the 1981 vintage. A very powerful Margaux wine with a fabulous colour. Aromas and flavours of mint, blackcurrant and berries. It has a full body and tannins. This wine is ripe, drink it now.
SERVICE
Traditionally, the great red Bordeaux wines are served "chambrés" i.e. at room temperature (about 18-19°C). Above this temperature, the nose loses its finesse and the alcohol overwhelms the delicate scents of the bouquet, or even the fruit of young wines; the tannins appear less fleshy and drier. When the temperature is too low, the aromas are difficult to release and the wine appears duller and shorter.
