Chateauneuf du Pape 2017 "La Part des Anges" - Raymond Usseglio
A late and very capricious grape variety, Mourvèdre is certainly one of the most demanding grape varieties in the south of France, especially at the northern limit of its cultivation. This cuvée benefits from a maturing period that is marked enough to accompany the tannic power of the grape variety. When a wine is put into barrels for maturing, part of its volume evaporates and it is called "LA PART DES ANGES" (angels' part). PART DES ANGES is a very special cuvée for a Châteauneuf du Pape, since it is the Mourvèdre that dominates the blend with 70%, completed with Grenache (20%) and a little of Syrah (10%), and it should be decanted if you wish to taste this cuvée before its first 2-3 years of ageing.
