Domaine Grand Veneur - Alain Jaume
95/100 Parker
Drink from 2023 to 2035.
Tasting note by Joe Czerwinski on May 5, 2022: " The 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape les Origines is rich and intense, a full-bodied, velvety wine with wow-level concentration. Blackberries and plums line the palate, and the finish is long, with notes of salty licorice. As usual, this is a blend of about 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, and 20% Syrah, with the Grenache matured in vats and the rest in older barrels."
- Terroir
Sector of the northern tip of Châteauneuf du Pape. These are quaternary terraces, with a very high proportion of red clay mixed with rolled pebbles. The subsoil is draining. This area is considered to be one of the best suited to the production of rich and powerful wines.
By definition, "LES ORIGINES" is always a wine with great ageing potential.
