THE CUVÉE EXPLAINED BY THE ESTATE
Coming from a great Irish dynasty, Count Jean-Baptiste Lynch was an exceptional man. Councillor at the Bordeaux Parliament, he inherited Dauzac from his father Thomas-Michel Lynch in 1783. He also co-managed with his brother two great names of the Médoc: Lynch-Bages and Lynch-Moussas. Napoleon Bonaparte offered him the Town Hall of Bordeaux and then named him Count of the Empire, hence his nickname of "Count of Dauzac". He was also known for never separating himself from his telescope which he used from the balcony of the Charterhouse overlooking the vineyard as well as the Gironde estuary from where he enjoyed the spectacle of the boats loaded with barrels of Dauzac bound for Northern Europe. He continued to develop the property by adding 13 plots and ended his life there in 1835.
