Layon 2018 in Magnum - Domaine Belargus
Appellation Coteaux-du-Layon Contrôlée
• 96/100 Parker
- Cellaring: 2021 - 2070
- By Stephan Reinhardt in July 8, 2021: "From south-facing slopes on the schist soils of the Loire tributary, the 2018 Coteaux du Layon Moelleux Layon has a radiant orange colour and a bright, absolutely gorgeous, elegant nose of perfectly ripe, stewed apricots intermingled with fresh, spicy-mineral, herbaceous and wax notes. Smooth and delicate on the palate, this is a seamless, perfectly balanced mellifluous wine with fine, crystalline acidity and fully ripe, sweet fruit, very elegant and refined. The finish is sensationally long and stimulating. This is an excellent Layon to enjoy on its own, with cheese or apricot tart. 11.5% alcohol. Tasted in June 2021."
- Presentation of the cuvée : It is the result of a blend of our parcels along the Layon, spread over three villages: Beaulieu-sur-Layon, Saint-Lambert du Lattay and Saint-Aubin de Luigné. It is characterized by its balance and a great freshness, carried by notes of fresh fruits and citrus fruits. The mouth, suave and enveloping, is supported by an acidulous sensation.
- Domaine Belargus offers a selection of superb dry white wines each year. It is in the best vintages that Belargus produces great sweet wines by letting the magic of botrytis offer superb vintages.
