Joe Czerwinski's tasting of the vintage on January 20, 2022: "Violets, blackberries and crushed rocks appear on the nose of the 2019 Côte Rôtie Dans les Vignes de Mon Père. A gigantic effort by the winemakers. Surely the best wine I have ever tasted from Domaine Bonnefond. The oak is perfectly integrated into this full-bodied wine that arrives weightlessly on the palate, adding just a hint of mocha and a fairly creamy texture. Long and lively, it should improve for at least 15 years, if not more."
The Cuvee: The wine is made from whole bunches - including 5% Viognier - by Christophe's daughter Léa, and spent 20 months in barrels previously used for a white wine vintage.
