DESCRIPTION

The cultivation of RULLY 1ER CRU MARGOTE began in 2015. This vine, whose age varies from one area to another, already cultivated organically, is located, like all the premiers crus of the Rully appellation, at the extreme South of one of the best exposed slopes of the Appellation, in the South-East. This gives wines with a frank and fruity character, sometimes mineral but always with a fine and dense bouquet.

• Yield: 8 Pieces, i.e. 18.24hl for an area of 0.40ha.

ELABORATION

The grapes are left on the vine for as long as possible so that the bunches reach a natural maturity of good and happy quality.

Hand-picked, the bunches are then pressed, whole bunches are harvested, then the resulting juice is left to settle naturally before, by gravity, it is poured into barrels and wooden casks.

Maturing lasts between 12 and 18 months on the lees without stirring.

Then, after racking and massaging the volumes of this RULLY 1ER CRU, everything is bottled and left to rest for a year before the wine is offered for sale. This explains why our first growths are sold one year apart.

TASTING

Vinified and matured in casks for 18 months. Our Rully 1er cru " Les Margotés" 2017 is frank and fruity, oscillating between white flowers and fine chalk notes. The pressing of the whole grapes confirms in the mouth a very beautiful purity of its juice which makes the wine elegant, racy, and a perfect balance of alcohol, fruit and acid. The aftertaste, which oscillates between a bitterness of skin and wood, remains refreshing and of a rare digestibility.

To be enjoyed now or to be drunk within ten years, once the wine has digested its fruit.
