Cuvée Laurence 2021 - Domaine du Pégau
Chateauneuf du pape - Feraud family
Cuvée Laurence from Domaine du Pégau is an iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape, crafted from the estate's oldest vines. Careful blending and exceptional terroir give it a profound expression of the Southern Rhône, both powerful and refined.
On the nose, it seduces with a rich aromatic complexity: ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), notes of garrigue, spices, licorice, and delicate floral touches. Aromas of pepper and warm spices intertwine with more subtle nuances of truffle or leather, depending on the aging process.
The palate is ample, structured, and elegant, supported by dense yet fine tannins and a sustained freshness that provides balance and tension. The wine offers a long, lingering finish, combining power, finesse, and maturity, making it a wine with excellent aging potential.
As for food pairings, Cuvée Laurence pairs perfectly with gourmet dishes such as roast leg of lamb, game stew, herb-crusted shoulder of lamb, or mature cheeses. Thanks to its remarkably high aging potential, it can be enjoyed now by those who appreciate complexity, or cellared for several more years.
