Tasting by Stephan Reinhardt on March 18, 2021: "Vacheron's 2016 Sancerre Belle Dame offers a beautiful ruby colour with a dark core and garnet highlights. It is peppery and fresh with a pure, refined and spicy nose that reveals aromas of ripe, stewed cherry and just-ripe berries with leafy forest notes and some peppery notes. The 2016 is a fresh, fine, elegant, silky-textured Pinot Noir, intense yet crisp, with the architecture of a gunflint terroir. It has an upright, tight and concentrated structure, with serious tannin grip and very good length. It is still a little brittle but pleasant to eat and finer after a few hours of aeration."
