Château Giscours 2002 in Magnum
Margaux - 3rd Grand Cru Rated
91/100 Parker
Cellaring : Drink now or cellar until 2030
Tasted by Neal Martin in 2016 : " Tasted at the Chateau Giscours vertical, the 2002 Chateau Giscours is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot harvested between October 1 and 15. The nose retains a Pomerol-like personality, quite perfumed and floral, with scents of sage and toast tinging the black fruits. With continued aeration, there is a hint of rooibos. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite ferrous in the mouth and slightly spicy. It doesn't offer the same precision as the 2001, although there is decent length here. It doesn't offer great length, but for the vintage it should be considered a modest success. Tasted in June 2015.
