Riesling Burg 2011 vendanges tardives - Gustave Lorentz
Service: 8 to 12°C
Custody: over 20 years old
Sweetness: Mild
Remarkable nose of candied lemon, rosemary and citron. This beautiful Riesling Vendanges Tardives marvellously combines fruitiness and minerality. The aromatic expression is rich, full of fruit, perfectly balanced with residual sugars that are totally integrated and which know how to remain discreet. On the palate, this Riesling surprises by its fatness, fullness and richness and gives off aromas of linden honey.
Terroir : Located in the West, close to the Grand Cru Kanzlerberg, the Burg area has a geology quite close to Kanzlerberg, with a good proportion of Keuper marls interspersed with rare limestone intercalations.
This south-facing promontory is protected from the prevailing winds to the east by the Kanzlerberg and to the west by the Reichenberg Castle hillock.
Food and wine : A wine to be served with acidulous desserts and tarts (rhubarb tart or lemon meringue) or a passion fruit Pana cotta.
