Côte-Rotie Coteaux de Bassenon 2020 - Guy Bernard
Directly from the property
Grape variety : 100% Syrah
Vineyard : This wine comes from a 66 ares parcel on the place called "Coteau de Bassenon" on the commune of Tupin Semons, located at the extreme south of the appellation Côte Rôtie. The soil is granitic with a southern exposure.
Tasting notes: Coming from the southern end of the appellation, Guy Bernard's Cote Rotie Coteaux de Bassenon is made from 6% Viognier and 40% whole bunches. A quarter of the oak is new, which adds sweet baking spice notes and a luscious, velvety texture. This wine has black fruit on the palate, plush tannins and a long, mouth-watering finish.
