Château Haut Marbuzet 2014 in Magnum
Saint-Estèphe - Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel
Parker Score: 92/100
Tasted by Neal Martin | Published: March 31, 2017
Peak: 2019–2035
The 2014 Château Haut-Marbuzet immediately seduces with its irresistible, warm bouquet. On the nose, captivating notes of ripe red cherries, juicy strawberries, and a touch of warmth give this wine a truly indulgent, almost comforting quality.
On the palate, the texture is silky, with supple, well-integrated tannins. There is beautiful density, aromas of kirsch, orange peel, and a subtle touch of sweet spices reminiscent of Chinese five-spice powder. An atypical Saint-Estèphe, more charming than strict, which works wonderfully in this vintage.
A pleasurable, hedonistic, and accessible wine, to be enjoyed now or kept in the cellar until 2035.
