Jean-Paul Brun's 60-year-old vines in this prime location produce a superb Fleurie Grille-Midi, a striking wine that unfolds in the glass with complex aromas of black raspberries, rose petals, smoked meats and violets. On the palate, it is deep and satiny, with a bottomless core of concentrated fruit, velvety tannins and ripe acids, finishing long and sapid. This is a brilliant Fleurie, worthy of age, that deserves a special effort to be found.
