Tasting: The Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese is deep and intense with a nicely reductive yet concentrated and spicy-mineral nose that reveals a crisp flinty/slate aroma with generous yet elegant and refined fruit flavors and subtle grapefruit. On the palate, this Auslese has a fine raisin aroma of perfectly ripe and overripe grapes, while the texture is very fine and beautifully balanced. It's impossible to spit it out, so delicate is the crystalline acidity interwoven with the fruit and texture of this lingering salty beauty.
