Château Latour 1956
Pauillac - Premier Grand Cru Classé
This wine is ready to be tasted.
Château Latour has a unique style in Bordeaux. It is one of the most consistent first growths of the Medoc for over 100 years!
This wine combines power, concentration, purity, just a hint of austerity and a royal presence. In its youth, it is not very fun to drink. It can be a little difficult to open. But as it ages, one quickly discovers its power and roundness, combined with this beautiful purity of fruit, velvet, refined tannins, and layers of blackcurrant, earth, truffle, spices, and tobacco. It is not uncommon to taste bottles of 50, 60 or 70 years of age that are sublime. Once you have tasted a mature bottle of Latour, you will understand why it was worth the wait!
