Order wine : Château les Carmes Haut Brion 2021
Pessac-Léognan
97/100 James Suckling
The texture and structure of this wine lend it elegance and singularity, with subtle notes of red fruit, chocolate, bark, and hints of clove and dried flowers. Graphite color. A medium- to full-bodied wine with fine, slightly fleshy, and very well-integrated tannins, offering beautiful elegance and great precision. Juicy and crisp. Intense aromas of spice and earth. Average age of the Cabernet Franc vines: 80 years. Blend: 45% whole cluster. Grape varieties: 40% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Merlot. This wine still has potential, but it is already fascinating in its youth.
When to drink this wine?: Cellar for at least 5 to 7 years and can be enjoyed for decades if the bottles are properly stored.
