GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION
The most recent A.O.C. in Burgundy (1987) promoted to the rank of communal appellation. Marsannay is the only village producing red, rosé and white wine.
CHARACTERISTICS
This vineyard faces east-south on the commune of Chenôve. The soils are dark brown, dry, of composition, with pebbles and gravels favourable to a good natural drainage. good natural drainage. Clos du Roy is one of the climates that will be strongly claimed as a premier cru in the near future.
VINIFICATION AND MATURING
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted carefully by hand and then destemmed. Maceration of the grapes takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 to 4 weeks. The vats are pumped over twice a day during fermentation. The ageing lasts about 18 months in our own barrels, about a third of which are new.
