Order wine : Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots 2022 - Méo Camuzet
Méo-Camuzet Frères et Sœurs from the estate
THE DOMAIN TELLS YOU ABOUT IT :
- Presentation of the cuvée : A very typical wine of the appellation ... Vosne Romanée: roundness, fleshy envelope, discreet but effective structure. Its great maturity and balance belies the reputation of the Nuits for austerity.
- Cellaring: Good cellaring potential, but this wine shows its best side at the beginning of its evolution: the fruit is there, generous, and does not have the aggressiveness that can sometimes be felt in other appellations.
- Maturing: The evolution is harmonious and rather early. In barrel, it is a wine that shows the vintage at its best. It is also well suited to new barrels, particularly the fine-grained Tronçais, which gives it a straightforward character. A proportion of older casks is still necessary, however, so as not to add too much sweetness to the wine's aromas.
- Vinification : Grapes are always very ripe and give round and full wines. Their concentration means that little intervention beyond what is currently practised on the estate is necessary. Since 2012, a trial of vinification with a small proportion of whole grapes (10-15%) has been carried out to reinforce the wine's finish.
