- Description: Located just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest white wine commune in the southern Côte d'Or. The perfect south-east exposure as well as the stony and stony soils contribute to the remarkable finesse of Meursault wines. "Genevrières" comes from "juniper", a shrub with prickly needles and purple berries that thrives on the limestone soils of Burgundy. Many junipers were replaced by the vine, as a number of climate names remind us. The Meusault 1er Cru "Genevrières" is an excellent example of a great Burgundy Chardonnay.
- Fermentation: Traditional in oak barrels, 100% malolactic.
- Ageing: 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% new
- Barrels: Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
- Tasting: Pale yellow in colour, the Meursault Genevrières 2015 has a floral nose with aromas of fresh almonds and vanilla. The palate is straightforward, revealing lemony notes with lots of freshness on the finish. Beautiful persistence.
- Food/wine pairing: Creamed chicken - black butter skate - white truffle risotto - Epoisses
