Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or 2015 - Fabien Coche
Coche-Bizouard
93/100 Parker
Drink Date : 2019 - 2029
Reviewed by William Kelley the 31st Oct 2018 : "Tasted blind, the 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or is excellent, unwinding in the glass with an initially reticent bouquet of tart pear, buttered citrus and iodine. It's on the palate—where the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and concentrated, with tangy acids and considerable volume—that the quality shows at this stage."
CÉPAGE
Chardonnay
TERROIR
Mainly marly limestone soils.
BREEDING
The wine is aged in oak barrels (about 30% new) for 12 months and then the different barrels are blended for a further 6 months.
TASTING
Superb pale gold colour with green highlights. A nose offering notes of citrus fruit (lemon), exotic fruits, garden apples. As it ages, this great wine obtains notes of butter and honey. The palate is rich, fat and perfectly balanced. The finish is very long.
GARDE
Its ageing potential can reach 10 years.
FOOD AND WINE PAIRING
Foie gras, fish, seafood and goat's cheese.
