Château Montrose 1970
Saint-Estèphe -2nd Grand Cru Rated
Cellaring potential: Drink now through 2026.
Tasting Notes : This is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, harvested between September 23 and October 11. Quite deep in color, it has a fragrant bouquet of cedar and leather, as well as modest amounts of black fruits, with a higher tonality than the co-existing vintages, probably due to the relatively higher alcohol content. The mouth has a nice definition, structured.
Château Montrose : Made mostly from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon from the "plateau", this wine, the signature of a unique terroir, combines tannic power, finesse and elegance. Recognized for its exceptional ageing capacity, its structure with precise tannins develops a delicate and complex bouquet with age.
