Tasted by William Kelley in 2024: "The Montrose 2023 is another brilliant wine from an estate that is now consistently among Bordeaux's top wines, year after year. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced exclusively from the estate's historic core on the fourth terrace just in front of the château itself, it unfolds in the glass with aromas of blackcurrant and wild berries mixed with notions of lilac, violet and pencil shavings. Full-bodied, deep, with a textured attack that transforms into a dense, multi-dimensional mid-palate framed by beautifully ripe tannins and lively acids, it finishes long and resonant.
