WHEN TO DRINK THIS WINE?
This is a rare and old vintage of Mouton Rothschild. It matured decades ago. You can taste it today or collect it.
Provenance of the label:
Of Catalan origin, Joan Miró (1893-1984) arrived in Paris in 1919. He was soon introduced by André Masson into the Surrealist group, where Breton welcomed him with enthusiasm. It was around 1924 that he invented his violently colored universe, composed of sign-objects, snakes, parasites with disquieting pseudopods, but he also carries in them the innocence and fantasy of children's drawings. All of Miró's work is based on this fundamental ambiguity: are these larvae, swirling around matrix circles, the transposition of an Oedipal fantasy, or should we only see joyful exuberance in the face of the world's greyness?
Crushed by an enormous blood-red grape, his drawing for Mouton Rothschild 1969 includes in its left corner, not without humor, a "salute to the colors", the blue and yellow of the Rothschild family.
