Château Pichon Longueville Baron 1981
Pauillac - 2ème Grand Cru Classé
- Tasting Notes: The 1981 Pichon Longueville-Baron is overtly oaky, with a fresh, lively tobacco and chocolate character. It lacks the intensity of this chateau's great but complicated vintages. On the palate, its fruity side is noticeable and its style is charming and pleasant. This wine is ready to be drunk, it is not necessary to keep it longer in the cellar.
- Ideal serving temperature: 15/16 °C. To be served after 2 or 3 hours of opening. (Do not decant).
- The château operates a vineyard of about 73 hectares. The grape varieties are black Merlot (35%), black Petit Verdot (1%), black Cabernet Franc (4%) and black Cabernet Sauvignon (60%: dominant grape variety).
