Le Cloître de Prieuré-Lichine is the former second wine of Château Prieuré-Lichine, one of the Classified Growths of the Margaux appellation. Made from a rigorous selection of parcels and young vines on the estate, it was intended to offer a more accessible approach to the Prieuré-Lichine style while retaining the elegance and refinement characteristic of great Margaux wines. Now replaced by Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine, it remains sought after by enthusiasts for its excellent value and its quintessentially Margaux character.

On the palate, Le Cloître de Prieuré-Lichine captivates with its aromas of ripe red and black fruits, often accompanied by floral, spicy, and subtly oaky notes from its barrel aging. The palate is supple, harmonious, and boasts velvety tannins, offering a luscious expression of the gravelly terroir of Margaux. More approachable in its youth than the Grand Vin, it nevertheless retains a beautiful structure and can evolve favorably for several years in the cellar.

SERVICE

• Regarding the service of Château Prieuré Lichine wine, it is recommended to decant it before serving it. Decanting aerates the wine and allows it to fully express itself.
• You can do this by carefully pouring the wine into a decanter, being careful not to stir up any deposits that have formed at the bottom of the bottle. Allow the wine to aerate for about an hour before tasting it.
• It is recommended to serve Château Prieuré Lichine at a temperature of around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius to allow the wine to express itself fully. It can be accompanied by dishes such as grilled red meats, roasts, dishes based on game or aged cheeses.

TASTING

When tasting Château Prieuré Lichine, you can expect complex aromas of ripe red fruit, cassis, black cherry, spice and woody notes from the aging in oak barrels.
