Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots 2018 - Domaine Laroche
93/100 Parker
Cellaring : 2021 - 2038
By William Kelley on August 5, 2021: "Notes of fresh bread, orange oil, crisp orchard fruit, apricot and marzipan introduce the 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots, a medium-bodied, satiny, layered wine that is full-bodied and nicely focused for the vintage, with a chalky grip and saline finish."
- Domaine Laroche's Grand Cru of choice, renowned for its finesse and charm.
- Terroir: Les Blanchots has a unique characteristic: white clay soils where Kimmeridgian limestone outcrops with ammonites are clearly visible. This terroir is an ideal combination for retaining water in depth and feeding the roots. The south-east exposure and the presence of clay allow a slow maturation, without degradation of the aromas. Fruity, delicate and silky, this refined Grand Cru reveals itself clearly after 5 years of ageing and optimally after 10 to 12 years.
