Meursault 1er cru Charmes 2013 - Chanson
Chanson Père et fils
93/100 Wine Spectator
Tasted in 2016: "A racy release, with lime, apple, white flowers and spice notes fused with a bone structure. Shows intensity, picking up a mineral element on the long finish. Drink it from 2018 to 2029. "BS
Grape variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Clay and limestone
Location : The Premier Cru "Les Charmes" is located south of the village of Meursault and adjoins the village of Puligny Montrachet. The climate is located on the hillside and benefits from a very good exposure.
Vintage 2013 : After a long winter, the rainy spring gave way in July to a beautiful hot and sunny summer but punctuated by very violent hail storms. The harvest took place at the end of September under a beautiful sun. The harvests were however largely impacted by these climatic hazards but the quality is there with white wines of a great aromatic purity, with a beautiful tension, citrus notes and a beautiful acidity. Aged in oak barrels for 11 months.
Tasting : Beautiful pale gold color. Floral fragrances on green fruits and fresh almond. Slight hint of vanilla. Well-built on a beautiful energy. Tense with a slightly creamy texture. Subtle oak on the long and elegant finish.
Food pairing : Lobster, seafood, white meats and some cheeses (Reblochon, Cantal, Citeaux, Epoisse).
