Nuits St Georges 2019 Les Plateaux - Mongeard Mugneret
91/100 Parker
Cellaring : 2022 - 2042
Tasted by William Kelley on January 14, 2021: "The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Plateaux behaves very well, displaying notes of raspberry, orange peel and peony, framed by a deft touch of toasty new oak. Lively and succulent, with a crisp core of fruit, tart acids and elegantly chalky tannins."
Character of the wine : The wines of the "Nuits" appellation are the most full-bodied, the most robust and the most tannic of the Côte de Nuits. Although they are generally ready to drink after four or five years in the bottle, they age very well for about ten years. They are full and firm with a dark, intense colour. Their aromas are powerful and complex. They combine cherry, blackcurrant, fur and truffle. They have an important tannic structure, and the harmony between tannin and depth makes them full-bodied and solid wines.
