Pouilly Fuissé 1er Cru Clos de Jeanne 2020 - Domaine Ferret - Tête de Cru
From the estate
- Location : This is the Le Clos cuvée, renamed following the appearance of the Premier Crus. "Le Clos de Jeanne" is a gently sloping, east-facing parcel of land located between the Domaine Ferret house and the village church.
- Grape variety : Chardonnay
- Ageing potential : To be drunk from 2024 to 2034.
- Age of the vines : Almost 35 years old for one half, as for the other, it has proudly passed its 50 years.
- Soil: The deep, non-stony, silty-clay soil is made up of residual clay. We note the presence of limestone and marly-limestone banks at depth.
- Vinification : Fermentation and maturation take place in barrels, 25% of which are new, 75% of which are barrels of 1 to 3 wines for 10 months. Then the maturation ends in stainless steel tanks with all their lees for another 9 months. Bottling at the very end of March 2022.
- Tasting : Of a rather greedy and charming nature, the 2020 vintage remains faithful to its terroir. Gourmet with a touch of pastry, it is nevertheless not devoid of freshness with its notes of zest.
- Food pairing : Grilled fish, creamy sauce, seafood, snails, chicken, and soft cheeses.
