Pouilly Fuissé 2020 Clos des Prouges in Magnum - Domaine Ferret - Tête de Cru
Directly from the estate
TASTING
- Ageing potential : 2024 to 2040.
- Tasting : Here is a charming wine, mixing aromas of citrus oil, pear, fresh bread, green apple and nutmeg. A generous and greedy bouquet. Satiny (sweet) and muscular, its attack is enveloping and follows with a brilliant and precise finish.
- Grape variety : Chardonnay
- Food pairing : Snails, veal chop, goat cheese and firm cow's milk cheese.
MORE INFORMATION
- Situation : In the heart of the village of Fuissé, this Clos of a little more than 2 hectares is on a very slight slope facing East.
- Age of the vines : The smallest plot was planted in 2003 but the most important part of this vineyard dates back to 1956, more than 60 years ago, which makes it one of the oldest vines of the domain.
- Soil: Soil from very chalky marl from the upper Bathonian.
- Vinification : Fermentations and maturation take place in barrels, 20% of which are new, 80% of which are barrels of 1 to 3 wines for 10 months. Then the maturation ends in stainless steel vats with all their lees for another 9 months. Bottling at the very end of March 2022.
