Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chalumaux 2018 - Bouchard Père et Fils
The small commune of Puligny-Montrachet shares with Chassagne the most the most famous white wines of Burgundy, including the mythical Montrachet. It also has also has many renowned Premiers Crus, such as the Chalumaux, characterized by a great distinction and a remarkable aromatic persistence.
TASTING NOTE: A complex bouquet of fruit and flowers with a hint of toast. In the mouth, it harmoniously combines power and mellowness. Good ageing potential.
FOOD & WINE Pairings : Fish, seafood and shellfish in sauce.
SERVICE TEMPERATURE : Between 12°C and 14°C
AGEING POTENTIAL : 5 to 7 years and more
HARVESTING : By hand, in small boxes of 13 kg. Careful manual sorting of each bunch.
VINIFICATION : The pressing is done in two phases: evacuation of the first juices, then pressing in two-hour cycles.
AGEING : 9 to 10 months in French oak barrels, with up to 15% new barrels depending on the vintage, then 3 to 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
AGEING : The cellars of the Bastions of the old Château de Beaune offer natural conditions perfectly adapted to the ageing of the Premiers Crus.
