Ségla is not simply the second wine of Château Rauzan-Ségla. It is a wine with its own distinct identity, born from a specific selection of parcels and young vines located on the famous deep gravelly soils of Margaux. Where the grand vin seeks the most accomplished expression of the terroir and the greatest aging potential, Ségla favors a more immediate and accessible expression of this same exceptional environment. It sincerely expresses the delicacy, freshness, and refinement for which Rauzan-Ségla is renowned, while asserting its own unique personality.

Its blend is based primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by small proportions of Petit Verdot and sometimes Cabernet Franc. This composition gives it a remarkable balance between structure, vibrant fruit, and aromatic finesse. The gravelly soils of Margaux lend the Cabernet Sauvignon its depth and structure, while the Merlot contributes fleshiness, richness, and velvety texture. The result is an elegant profile, marked by red and black fruits, floral notes, sweet spices, and a touch of smokiness characteristic of great Médoc wines.
