By Robert M. Parker, Jr. in 2012: "I think the 2007 Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape will eclipse the 2005. It is unequivocally the best wine made here since Emmanuel Reynaud's uncle, the late Jacques Reynaud, made his brilliant 1995. That wine has just been released this year, with the 2008 coming on the market in the next few months. The 2007 is a relatively dark ruby/purple-coloured wine, more intensely coloured than most Châteauneuf Rayas, as they are 100% Grenache and colour has never been one of their characteristics. Extraordinarily youthful, nascent aromas of black raspberries, black cherries, truffles, and licorice lead to a full-bodied, powerful Rayas with sweet tannins, adequate acidity, ethereal richness, and an unctuousness that delicately offers a sensual texture. It is full-bodied, concentrated, and approachable, but will not reach its peak for at least 4-5 years, and will last 25 years or more. This is a spectacular Rayas, the likes of which have not been made at this quality level since 1995."
