Château Badette 2018
Grand Cru de St Emilion
(93 - 95)/100 Parker
By Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2019: "The Badette 2018 comes from Badette in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes. The blend is composed of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine ages in new oak barrels for 50% and second year for 50%. The aging is estimated at 18 months. With 14% alcohol and a deep black-purple color, it sings of crushed blueberries, warm plums and chocolate-covered cherries with an undertone of cedar and loads of exotic spices - blackcurrant, fenugreek and star anise - plus a hint of forest floor. Full-bodied and richly fruity on the palate, it has a wonderful line of freshness, with finely grained tannins and a long finish with mineral nuances".
