Tasted on 18 June 2020 by Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "With a deep purple-black hue, the 2019 vintage of La Bienfaisance initially seems restrained. However, after a gentle swirl in the glass, it gradually reveals rich notes of plum jam, baked blackberries and Black Forest cake, accompanied by subtle aromas of liquorice, Christmas pudding, chocolate box and espresso, with a discreet touch of sandalwood. This wine is resolutely full-bodied, and its layers of ripe black fruit offer a smooth texture, providing a hedonic experience, underpinned by lively acidity that drives a long, spicy finish."
