Gewürztraminer Altenbourg 2016 Clos des Capucins - Domaine Weinbach
The wooden boxes sold on the website are not adapted to the format of the bottles.
The lieu-dit Altenbourg lies between 220 and 300m altitude, on soft slopes, just below the Grand Cru Furstentum.
The soil is mainly marl, sandstone and limestone, similar to the soil found on the Furstentum, but with more sand and a faster ripening process. The Altenbourg favours great ripeness, and produces beautiful Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer.
The hill located in Kientzheim, with its clay and limestone soils, is recognised geologically and empirically as favourable to these particular varieties.
The lower part of the hill gives birth to our Gewurztraminer Cuvée Laurence.
