Sweetness index on the palate: 2, not technically dry, but the sugars are not obvious on the palate. Some tasters may find a slight roundness on the finish. These wines will taste dry with some bottle ageing.

The richness of the soil in clay and limestone gives a lot of structure to the Riesling wine. Although benefiting from an early and warm climate, maturity is late compared to the surrounding terroirs. The result is always an aromatic expression which may seem austere in youth, but which becomes intense and complex with ageing. The acidities are impressive, even in hot years. In the first vintages, noble rot was more frequent, as the vine still had a strong vigour which resulted in an earlier appearance of noble rot. Since the end of the 1990s, as the vines age, the vigour of the plants is now more moderate and this terroir produces more regular and dry wines

1: technically dry or tasting dry. 2: not technically dry, but sugars are not evident on the palate. Some tasters may find a slight roundness in the finish. These wines will taste dry with some bottle ageing.3: medium sweetness, more important in the youth of the wine, which will gradually fade with age. 4: Sweet wine. 5: Sweet wine, very close to a Late Harvest
