"This wine reveals a highly precise aromatic palette, intertwining intense notes of blackberries, dark chocolate, roasted hazelnuts and a subtle smoky touch. On the palate, the texture is both juicy and elegantly structured, carried by polished tannins and a delicately indulgent mouthfeel. The blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), complemented by Merlot (21%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdot (1%), gives it balance and depth. A racy cuvée that will benefit from being tasted from 2022 onwards to reveal its full complexity."

"The 75-hectare vineyard on the left bank of Brane Cantenac is essentially unchanged since it achieved second growth status in the 1855 Médoc classification. The entire vineyard can be divided into 120 separate parcels. It is planted with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Carménère. Carménère was used for the first time in the 2011 vintage. Petit Verdot was planted in 2008. 2017 is the first vintage where Petit Verdot was added to the blend. This is at least the case for the 45 hectares used to produce the Grand Vin de Brane Cantenac. These 45 hectares are planted near and around the château. These vineyards are located just across the Cantenac plateau and constitute the best terroir that Brane Cantenac has. At its peak, the vineyard has an altitude of 22 meters. This parcel is the heart and soul of their wine. Not only for the elevation, but also for the depth of the gravel which can reach 12 meters.

Today, over 20% of Brane Cantenac is farmed using organic farming techniques. It is expected that over time, the number of hectares cultivated using organic methods will increase. Four of these hectares are also farmed using biodynamic techniques."
